About

hiking after hip replacement surgery

Welcome to The Hip Hiker

If you’re wondering about the name, you’re not alone! “The Hip Hiker” is a play on words that came to me after my own successful hip replacement gave me back the ability to hit the trails. It represents a simple goal: getting you back to the active life you love, one step at a time.

Why This Site Exists

This site is dedicated to one thing: giving you the clear, practical, and hard-won advice I wish my family had when we started our journey. Between us, we’ve been through 11 joint replacements—including hips, knees, and my wife’s recent surgery. I created The Hip Hiker to be the single, trustworthy resource we needed, packed with “Hip Pointers” and “Kneed to Know” nuggets to prepare you, guide your recovery, and help you avoid common mistakes.
